Just north of Macclesfield, this route takes you into Bollington along the Macclesfield Canal, then up Kerridge Hill for a fantastic view. On the end of the ridge is White Nancy, a little whitewashed summerhouse folly built in 1817 to celebrate Waterloo, now one of the landmarks of east Cheshire.

The way back uses the canal and the Middlewood Way. The Windmill Inn is handily close to the start.
