Buxton sits on the edge of the Peak District, close to both Cheshire and Staffordshire. People have lived here for 6,000 years, and the Romans loved it for the warm spring, where water rises from half a mile underground after about 5,000 years working its way down through the rock.
This route takes in Buxton Baths and St Ann's Well, where you can fill a bottle, the Pavilion Gardens and the Serpentine Walk, then climbs into Grin Low Wood above the town.
