From Hoylake you follow the coast to Leasowe Common and its lighthouse, from 1763 the oldest brick built lighthouse in Britain. Then it's on to New Brighton, known before the 19th century for smuggling and wrecking, out to Perch Rock with its fort and lighthouse, and down New Brighton parade.
From Egremont ferry the views across to Liverpool are fantastic, and you finish in Birkenhead Park, the inspiration for New York's Central Park.
