Arclid 7.5 Mile Circular Route
Including The Legs of Man and Arclid Quarry

Today we are exploring routes around Arclid, heading out of Sandbach past the Legs of Man pub and then following the back lanes and footpaths returning via Arclid Quarry.

The Route

Starting from the Cobbles in Sandbach, we head down to the traffic lights, cross and follow the path up to Woodside Drive and up Hawthorne Drive at Sandbach Heath. We then take the path over the fields to Church lane and pick up another footpath passing Sandbach Heath Quarry and down to Hemmingshaw Lane. We then take the path across the field that brings us to Newcastle Road at Arclid and turn right to the Legs of Man pub where we turn left on Back Lane towards Martin’s Moss / Brookhouse Green. We then take a path to the left which loops us back around to Spark Lane in Arclid where we turn left and then right into Davenport Lane. At the bend we take the path to the left over the fields to the Newcastle Road part way between Arclid and Brereton. We take a right and then the path on the left which takes us across the fields behind Arclid Sand Quarry bringing us out at Brickhouses near M6 Junction17. We pass the motorway junction cross over and take the path through the estate to Gawsworth Drive and straight on through Sandbach Park. At the Common we turn left onto Well Bank and Hawk Street ending back at the Sandbach Crosses on the Cobbles.
