Bulkeley Hill & Higher Burwardsley
3.75 mile circular route including The Pheasant Inn & a section of the Sandstone Trail

Today we are at Bulkeley in Cheshire for a beautiful 3.75 mile route on a section of the Sandstone trail including Bulkeley Hill with its fantastic views of the Cheshire Plain and Higher Burwardsley where you can enjoy the view and a drink while sat outside the Pheasant Inn.

The Route

Starting from Coppermine lane we cross the field and turn left taking the middle path up Bulkeley Hill. Take a minute at the top to enjoy the fantastic views of the Cheshire Plain then head down the far side dropping down to the track following the Sandstone Trail marked path. At the track turn right cross Fowlers Bench Lane taking the path to Hill lane. Turn left and then right into Rock lane. At the bend take the path on your right. Take a minute to enjoy the view then head up to the top of the hill. The path now drops down to a track where we leave the Sandstone trail for a while turning left rather than right. The track joins Pennsylvania Lane, some great views along the lane with a great view directly opposite the Pheasant Inn. Once refreshed, continue down the lane to the end and turn left.  And then left into Rock lane, where the lane branches take the right fork (Hill lane) finally taking the path on the right that we came out on back to Fowlers Bench Lane. Cross the road and head up the track all the way to the top where it joins Coppermine lane where we parked.
