Shrewsbury and the River Severn
From the world's oldest iron-framed building along the old canal into Shrewsbury, past half-timbered streets and round the loop of the Severn.

Shrewsbury reminded me of Chester, with the river and all the 15th and 16th century half-timbered buildings.
You start out of town at Ditherington Flaxmill, from 1797, the oldest iron-framed building in the world and the grandfather of the skyscraper. The old Shrewsbury Canal has been filled in, leaving a path that heads straight into town. You pass the old prison, closed in 2013 and now open to visitors, then follow the River Severn round the town's loop past the Quarry park and the bridges.
Apologies, I ran right past the Quantum Leap sculpture.
