Walk / Run Route Northwich & Marbury Park

This is a great route for exploring the Northwich Flashes and Marbury Country Park at 6.5-7 miles its about a 2.5 hour walk.

The Route

Starting from the lay-by at Wincham. The route take you around the flashes and then through to Anderton Boat lift then follows the Trent and Mersey Canal for a short distance, you then cross the canal and do a lap of Marbury Country Park before returning over the bridge and completing the circular route back over the flashes to the starting point.

Local Info

In the video I mention the invention of polythene, thinking about it I think the taps were made of nickel and recall seeing a sunken house near the Lion Salt Works. Please feel free to correct me or add to the local info in the video comments to help out people unfamiliar with the area.

Parking

Note the car parks at the Mill Meadow, Anderton Boat lift and Marbury Country Park may be closed before dawn and after sunset so if you are planning to catch a sunrise or sunset you would need to park where I parked in the lay-by at Wincham which is available 24 hours a day.
