Walk / Run Route Winsford - Winsford to Hunts Lock Northwich on the Weaver Way

Walk / Run Route Winsford – an approximate 9 mile route

The Route

Starting from the free car park on Weaver Valley road in Winsford, the route follows the river Weaver on the Weaver Way past the flashes and salt mine, Vale Royal Locks (close to the old Cistercian Abbey at Vale Royal Abbey now a Golf Club) on past the blue bridge at Hartford to Hunts lock at Northwich. Here we cross over and return via Marshall’s Arm Nature reserve and down the track towards Vale Royal Abbey crossing over again at Vale Royal locks and then retracing our steps for the last couple of miles.
