55 Today: Health, Hills & What’s Coming in 2026

Today I turn 55, and instead of celebrating in any conventional way, I’m out walking in the countryside — thinking about health, hills, and what lies ahead.

In this post, I reflect on a challenging year, why I’ve had to step back from running for a while, and how getting outside continues to play a vital role in both physical and mental wellbeing. I also share what’s coming next for Run Adventurer in 2026, from exploring more of Cheshire’s high points to quietly preparing the groundwork for a future book.

This isn’t about fast times or ticking off miles. It’s about slowing down, adapting when life forces change, and continuing to find meaning and adventure outdoors — one step at a time.
