Merry Christmas! Its just before Christmas 2022 and we’ve been in the grip of arctic weather for a while now, it was -6C when I set off and I’m pretty sure it was colder than that once I got out into the countryside. Today we’ve headed to my favourite city, Chester. I parked at Little Roodee and today we are doing a one way route. I start by running through the city centre, up Lower Bridge Street and Bridge Street then right down to Eastgate Clock and along Foregate Street before heading out towards the train station on city road to pick up the Shropshire Union Canal which we are going to follow all the way to the Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port where the canal meets the Manchester Ship Canal alongside the River Mersey. We then head into Ellesmere Port Town Centre to the bus station to grab a bus back to Chester and cooldown by walking back through Chester via Grosvenor Park and the waterfront on the River Dee.
