Church Minshull, Cheshire
5.5 Mile Circular Walk / Run includes the Badger Inn

Today we’re in Church Minshull in rural Cheshire for a great 5.5 mile run over the fields and down the Shropshire Union canal to Church Minshull where you might want to take a break, have a look around and take refreshment at the Badger Inn before closing the loop on our circular route.

The Route

Starting from Lee Green Lane at Lee Green just outside Church Minshull we head down the lane, near the end we take the path on our left over the fields which after about a mile brings us to the Shropshire Union canal. We join the canal turning right under the bridge towards Church Minshull. Follow the canal until you reach bridge 11 (Hoolgrave Bridge) where we exit up the steps and turn right. The track heads down to Old Hoolgrave where the path turns right across a field and then right again onto the track over the bridge and up the rise into Church Minshull. At the road turn right, the Badger Inn is right in front of you. After refreshment, pass St Bartholomews church then turn left onto Over road. Follow the road for about half a mile (be careful there is no footpath for much of this), then take the path on your right which comes out on Lee Green lane. Turn right and continue down Lee green lane to where we parked on the verge.
