Coastal Running Adventure - Tudweiliog to Whistling Sands

Think you’ll like this one, continuing that run from Porthdinllaen at the 6 mile point at Tudweiliog we run the last 9.5 miles to Whistling Sands (Porthor) down the Wales Coast Path.

Along the way we pass the old port as Porth Ysgaden, Porth Ychain, Traeth Penllech, Porth Colmon and Porth Iago. Some stunning scenery, basically there is nothing there but the sea, rugged coastline and some beautiful beaches.

Along the way we see:

Porth Ysgaden – Ysgaden means herring in welsh which gives you a hint, it’s a port dating back to the neolithic. there is the remains of a house thought originally to have been a lighthouse

Porth Colmon – Site of the whisky shipwreck where a ship struck the rocks and sank and its cargo of whisky was redistributed amongst the local populous

Porth Iago – An absolutely stunning white sand beach

Porthor (Whistling Sands) – One of my favourite beaches and we have it all to ourselves today, the sand squeaks under your feet due to the shape of the sand crystals I believe.
