Delamere Forest ParkRun Course | Plan Your Park Run Tourism in Cheshire

Today we are going to run the course of the Delamere ParkRun, I’ve started from Yeld Lane Car Park in Kelsall so the route includes a 1.5 mile warm up / cool down, alternatively you could start from the main visitors centre near the start or at Barnsbridge Car Park. It’s a perfect spot for a park run, maybe not the fastest as its undulating but you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place to run.

The Route

Warm Up

From the Yeld Lane Car Park cross Yeld Lane and head down Forest Gate Lane and into the forest. When you meet the main path go straight on and follow the path around to the left and over the top of Old Pale and down the far side. At the main track turn right and immediately left to the Parkrun starting point.

The Course

Follow the trail, when you meet a fork in the path turn right over the railway bridge. At the next fork turn right which comes out by the Gruffalo. Go straight on down the hill to Blakemere Moss and turn left, we’re doing one lap of the Moss. Follow the path keeping the Moss to your right, at the far side of the moss take the right fork to stay next to the Moss. Eventually you will have done a complete loop, there is a handy 5k route sign post to point you back the way we came to the Gruffalo. Retrace your steps, left at the fork, over the bridge then left again, down the dip, you’re near the end now so give it the beans, around the corner and on to the finishing point.
