I’m on holiday in Cornwall this week and can’t resist a run down the beautiful South West Coastal Path. I parked on Marine drive at Hannafore on the road (free to park) and ran down the Cornish Coastal Path through to Talland Bay and then on to the harbour at Polperro and back. While a bit hilly and steep in places, it’s an absolutely stunning route with fantastic views. For those of you walking the route you could do it one way, perhaps from Looe to Polperro and then get the bus back. There are several good pubs in Polperro to help you keep you feet moving forward along the path.
Starting from Marine drive at Hannafore join the South West Coastal Path. Enjoy fantastic views out to Looe Island just keep going, enjoy the view of Hore Stone at the Headland and then drop down to Talland Bay. At the road turn left and then left again to drop down to the beach where there is a cafe. Head straight on up the hill and then turn back onto the coastal path. Pause to enjoy the view from the War Memorial at Downend Point, keep your eye out for fishing boats coming out of Polperro Harbour too. The path drops down and around the corner into Polperro Harbour which is where I turned around, you could of course head into the village for refreshment or to catch the bus back to Looe. I turned around and retraced my steps.
The route is based on parking on Marine Drive at Hannafore
