Sandbach Heath Sand Quarry
7 mile circular walk / run route from Sandbach, Cheshire

Starting from the Cobbles by the Saxon Crosses in Sandbach, today we are heading around some of the quieter bank lanes in Sandbach Heath with a lap of the Sand Quarry.

The Route

From the Crosses, we head down Crown Bank / Church Street and up the Hill to Sandbach Heath, taking the footpath on the right to Stringer Avenue and then on down Colley Lane; around Vicarage lane and over to Dubthorn Lane before turning right into Reynolds Lane. Here we take the track on our right which brings us to our loop of the quarry. We begin the loop by taking the path to the left over the fields which brings us to the edge of the quarry. Following the edge clockwise we then take the permissive path to Hemmingshaw Lane and turn right, this leads us directly through the quarry and then back around the far edge of the quarry. We keep the edge of the quarry to our right until we get back to the track just up from where we began our loop. We then head back down the track, right into Reynolds Lane then left into Church lane, onto School lane before turning right into Manor Road which brings us back to the hill, from here we retrace our steps down the Hill and back into the town centre.
