Run over the space of a week, the Ginger Runner announces daily challenges that have to be completed that day. A lot of the fun is working out the best way to do the challenge.
It’s day 1 and it’s a really simple one today, run somewhere new. Of course thats what I do all the time! I’m constantly exploring and sharing new routes in new places with you. So today I headed over to Runcorn and Parked at Wigg Island Community Park which is a lovely green space with fantastic views across the River Mersey and both Runcorn / Widnes Bridges the original Silver Jubilee Bridge and the new Mersey Gateway Bridge, it also runs alongside the Manchester Ship Canal. After running a lap of the park land (1.8 miles) I head down the front to the Silver Jubilee bridge and Runcorn Promenade before heading up into Runcorn and picking up the Bridgewater Canal and heading back. Thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth a visit. I ran another route in the area at the weekend from Daresbury to Norton and up to Halton Castle which will be out on Patreon shortly and Youtube in October, I mention it as you could link the two routes up to make a longer route which might be fun.
The route is based on parking at Wigg Island
