How to make a homemade Alcohol Stove for the Zombie Apocalypse

How to make a simple homemade alcohol stove so you can brew up anywhere, it burns any flammable liquid so ideal for the zombie apocalypse.

Just a bit of fun, how to make a simple alcohol stove so you can brew up anywhere. The stove is made from two cans. The beauty of this stove is it’s light, easy to make and can be lit even when its really cold outside.

Outer Can

The outer is a cat food can (aluminium ring pull type) just remove the lid and cat food then smooth the edge where it ring pull lid was.

Inner Can

Any can that will fit inside, I used a tomato puree can. Remove the top and puree. Now place the can in the outer can and mark off at the height required which is about 1cm higher than the inner can. Next cut off the end of the can at that height with a hacksaw. Now take a hole punch and punch half circle holes at the bottom of the can so when it’s sat in the outer can the holes allow the liquid to pass from the inner can to the outer one.

Welders Felt / Fibreglass Welding Blanket

Get a small piece of welders felt or a piece of a fire blanket and cut it to size so it wraps around the inner can to act as a wick and to keep the two can snuggly fit together.

How to Use

Pour fuel into the inner can, wait a minute then light the wick. Cook as required when finished let it burn out and a few minutes for it to go cold before packing away.
