Rode Heath & Church Lawton | A 5.5 Mile Run - Canal & Woodland

Today on Run Adventurer we have another in the ‘localish’ series, I’ve travel 3 miles from Sandbach to Rode Heath on the outskirts of Alsager for a run up the canal to All Saints Church at Church Lawton we then head through the woods past Lawton Hall through to the Bleeding Wolf pub on the edge of Scholar Green and then over the fields and through Bratt’s wood back to Rode Heath.

The Route

Starting from Sandbach Road in Rode Heath we run towards Sandbach and then take the path left through the farm yard to the canal and turn left towards Kidsgrove. We follow the canal through Lawton Gate, passing the staircase locks to All Saints Church at Church Lawton where we turn left passing the church and through the woods past the pool and come out at The Spinney where we turn right and then left onto Congleton Road North. After a short distance we turn left down the track beside the Bleeding Wolf Pub over the fields taking the right fork to Bratt’s Wood. We head through the wood and at the far side turn left and follow the path which comes out on Old Knutsford Road near Snape’s Aqueduct. Turn right and then right again onto Knutsford road and then left into Sandbach Road and head through Rode Heath back to our starting point.
