Runcorn & Widnes - Trans Pennine Trail & Manchester Ship Canal

I hope you enjoy a trip through a post industrial landscape. Along the way we will see the new peace garden next to the pub used as “the archer” in 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps, we’ll head a cross the old Runcorn Widnes Bridge and through the West Bank to Spike Island. We’ll head down the trans pennine trail beside the Sankey canal and river Mersey to Sankey Valley near Warrington before heading back passing Moor Nature Reserve and down the Manchester Ship Canal.

14 miles, it would make a great bike ride, long run or long walk
