Christleton, Cheshire - 3.5 Mile Run at Christleton near Chester | Running Travel Vlog

We are near Chester today at Christleton. Its a beautiful village with a pretty church and our starting point is located close to the Ring O’ Bells pub for after your walk or run.

Christleton was named as one of the best places to live in 2022 by the Times newspaper and its easy to see why, out in the countryside its a picture postcard old Cheshire Village and its only 3 miles from Chester which is my favourite city.

Todays route takes us up toward ‘the pit’ (the local duck pond) and then across the fields and down the lane to Brown Heath. We then pick up the Baker Way path momentarily before turning off and into Waverton where we join the Shropshire Union Canal and follow it back to Christleton. Not too far at 3.5 miles its a pleasant stroll or a short run in the peace and quiet of the Cheshire Countryside.

The Route

Starting from Village road head through Christleton passing the Ring O’ Bells on your left then turn right by the church on Little Heath Road towards the duck pond. Take the path on the right marked Legion Meadow and follow the path out into the fields, where the path splits go left and then at small pond follow the track around to the right which brings you out on Rake Lane. Follow the lane straight on to Brown Heath then take the Baker Way Path right and then turn immediately left into Capesthorne Road. Turn right and take the path straight on into Fox Lane. Turn right and follow the road to the end then turn right onto Eggbridge lane. At the bridge join the Shropshire Union Canal, and go left under the bridge towards Chester. Follow the canal back to the bridge ar Rowton Bridge Road just before the Cheshire Cat Pub. Turn right up the road back up to Village Road at our starting point.
