Mobberley - 5 mile run from Mobberley near Knutsford, Cheshire

Today we are just outside Knutsford at Mobberley, Cheshire. I’ve parked on Mill lane near the Bulls Head and the Roebuck which would make good stopping off points after your walk or run. We run across the fields in a loop around to Pavement road. Note from Pavement road there is another path which goes to Knutsford so you could start in Knutsford and do the loop of Mobberley (this would add about 3 miles to the route). We then head around the other side of Mobberley passing the Ilford factory and over the fields to Church lane near St. Wilfrid’s Church and Church Inn before heading across the playing fields back to Mill Lane. The route is just under 5 miles.

The Route

Starting from the Bulls Head on Mill lane head up Damson lane and take the path on the right. After a short distance turn left and head up the field to the track at the far left side of it. Head down the track going straight on past a crossroads in the path and then at the next gate head left down the bank to the woodland and over the stream. Go straight on up the hill until you reach the big house (guess someone mega rich lives there) the path is marked straight on down the side of the property but instead turn right over the field to the track where you turn right. Head around the farm building and continue on the path on your right and follow it through to the farm at the end of Pavement lane. The path heads straight through the farm onto Pavement Lane. Follow the lane back into Mobberley then turn right on Bernisdale Road and left onto Edenfield road. Now take the path on the right that comes out by the Co-op. 

Cross the road and turn right and then immediately left at Greenwood Terrace. Follow the track, cross the next road and continue straight onto the track that runs around the side of the Ilford factory. When you reach the far end of the factory you cross a bridge at which point there is a path on your right, take this which comes to a driveway. Turn right up the drive and then take the path on the left up the rise then right behind the property. At the next field the path goes left until it reaches a track where the path goes right coming out on Church lane near St. Wilfrid’s Church. Turn right passing the church and the pub and then turn right over the playing fields and straight on, the path comes out opposite Mill lane, go straight on back to the starting point by the Bulls Head.
