Prestbury & Macclesfield Riverside Park - Bollin Valley Way

Prestbury is beautiful, it’s no wonder that it has a number of rich and famous residents. We take a walk around the village and then along the Bollin Valley Way beside the River Bollin at Macclesfield Riverside Park on a stunning cold, frosty morning.

The Route

Starting from the free car park take a walk through the church yard passing the old Norman chapel and main church

We then head up the Main Street which has a selection of listed buildings

Looping past the car park we take the path to join the Bollin Valley Way

The path runs along the riverbank and over the fields towards Macclesfield

Eventually we reach a tunnel under the rail tracks and take this and then loop back on the other side of the tracks

Just before we reach the golf club we take the newly constructed stepping stone across the brook

The path then recrosses under the railway tracks and we rejoin the main path and follow it back into Prestbury
