Exploring Tegg's Nose & Sutton, Macclesfield, Cheshire

This ones just for your guys. If you’ve not been, Tegg’s Nose Country Park is worth a visit and that section of the Gritstone trail is beautiful right now with all the purple heather. From the top you get great views across to Macclesfield Forest and Shutlingsloe and in the other direction across the Cheshire plain.

Today we do a 6 mile one way route (all downhill) from Tegg’s Nose following the Gritstone Trail passing Teggsnose Reservoir and Bottoms Reservoir through to Langley where we leave the Gritstone trail and head through Langley passing St Dunstan’s Inn and then heading over the fields to Sutton. The village is beautiful and there are a couple more pubs, we pass right by Church House. Next we head past Sutton reservoir and follow the canal feeder to the A523 and join the Macclesfield canal and follow it towards Congleton. I picked Jason up at Cowbrook Lane but you could just head all the way to Congleton and then jump on a bus back to Macclesfield.

We end here getting off the canal at the bridge, there is room for a couple of cars to pull up on the verge
