The stunning weather continues, today I’m close to home heading out near Nantwich in Cheshire to Barbridge for a run down the Shropshire Union Canal from the point the spur of the canal branches down towards Middlewich where it meets the Trent and Mersey Canal. Not a long one, 4.5 miles the route I took though you could easily shorten it to 3.5 or 4 miles if you prefer.
We’re starting from the Olde Barbridge Inn who will be happy to server an ice cold lager to the weary adventurer we then head up the canal to the spur and follow it to the lock by the Venetian Marina then take a right on Winsford Road and a left on Stoke Hall Lane back towards Barbridge. I then take a path across to the canal and over the fields to the road then head back into Barbridge. Worth a visit, you don’t need to travel far, we are blessed with lots of fantastic countryside right on our doorstep
Includes Dees Venetian Tea Rooms
